My People

Hi there...it is Sunday today, and there are my people. They love me. Oh, yes they do. Yesterday we went on a hike to Radnor Lake, and I promenaded (is that a word?) and met lots of other pups. Some of them have those nasty chain collars. Why is this necessary? I mean, not all dogs have good manners, but a chain around your neck only makes matters worse. It is fall here, and the leaves are coming down and crinkling beneath my paws. Lovely.
So...my people also gave me a haircut yesterday. This takes soooooo long, and the buzzer is really annoying. My people are obsessed with my looks. I promptly went outside and muddied up my feet, and it felt pretty good. Life is good with my people.

I Swear I Hate Rain....

Days and days of glorious sun came and went. We watered flowers and bushes (I helped of course), and I was so comfortable in my own hair. Then.....the rain came down.
Rain sucks.
Here's why: I get wet. I get soaked. I get cold. My balls and my frisbees get soggy. My yard becomes a pool. My feet get muddy, and squishy. Everything I touch gets soiled. My pillow gets covered with purple towel, and when I come in the house I must go straight to my towel-covered pillow.
Rain sucks.

Mama doesn't care. I know she doesn't. I just try to get back inside when she takes me out to pee, and she refuses to let me inside. She says her crazy Italian command for going potty (it literally means "force yourself"), and then tells me that if I "hort-za" (okay I know it is spelled wrong but this is what is sounds like to a dog), I will get a treat. Meanwhile, I am stressed, soaked, and try to crawl up her leg. She is dressed in galoshes, raincoat, and has an umbrella. I am in my matching rain jacket. We are a sight.

So I pee. Reluctantly.

Pooping is impossible in the rain. I become constipated at the thought of rain.

What to do?

Sleep. Dream of sun. Dream of dry days ahead.

The Famous Agility Park

Today my people decided to take me to an agility dog park, which seems like a very fine idea for a Saturday morning. The car ride alone exhausted me, and they were PISSED because it was not very easy to find. This was supposed to be fun, but I just had to sleep in my carseat to make into the little town of Franklin, Tennessee.

It was located next to the dog pound, and was very noisy. Barking was the only sound I heard, and it was NOT happy barking. Nope, it was sad. It was also hot for a September day. The so-called agility equipment was suspect and creaky. The see-saw was so rickety I would not even put my paw on it.

There was a mean-looking insecure mutt who had his hair raised on his back, and I swear he almost killed me. I don't have anything against mutts, as I am a mix myself, but a mutt does not have manners. Mama picked me up and I just wished she was taller. We probably stayed a total of 15 minutes, which is very short compared to our 45 minute travel time. They vowed to never take me back. I fare much better just playing on the Parthenon steps in my hometown, Nashville.

This is my first post, so forgive me if it not long. I need to nap. I will tell you more about my life later.
